Catriona Shepherd

is still not sure how she ended up playing in a big band, but after almost 20 years of classical training and many post-call rehearsals, Catriona is happy to have an opportunity to let her hair down and wail with EJP. Catriona had her musical debut in 1984 with the Silver Dollar Band at the Fourth of July Parade in her hometown of Swarthmore, PA. Since then she received a BA in Music from Tufts University and has studied with Seymour Rosenfeld, Charles Schleuter, Dana Russian, Louis Ranger and David Bilger. In addition to being a key member of the EJP trumpet section, Catriona is a member of the brass quintet, "Quintopia" and the Casco Bay Concert Band When not making music, Catriona is a family physician with the Bowdoin Medical Group.

Abriel Ferreira
knew she was destined to play trumpet ever since she picked up her Dad's beat up horn as a six-year old and started making "sick cow noises". She has come a long way since then, playing trumpet across the world, from Bangkok, Thailand to Brunswick, Maine. Abriel began her study of trumpet at the American School of the Hague,  playing in the AMIS Honor Jazz and Concert bands across Europe throughout middle school and high school, and was awarded the John Philip Souza Award her senior year. In 2006 Abriel crossed the Atlantic to attend Bowdoin College, where she studied trumpet with Allen Graffam and played first trumpet in the Bowdoin Brass Quintet, Orchestra, Pep Band, and New Music Ensemble. Abriel was recognized for her contributions to the Bowdoin music department in 2010, receiving the Sue Winchell Burnett music prize. During her summers, she has worked as a piano accompanist and music teacher at Camp Med-O-Lark in Maine, and played trumpet in musicals for the College Light Opera Company on Cape Cod. Since graduating in 2010, Abriel has kept busy balancing work at an energy consulting company with teaching trumpet and piano, and playing with the Edith Jones Project and Casco Bay Community Band.
Lori Wingo is a recovering French horn major from Virginia. Upon her relocation to the beauteous state of Maine, she soon realized that there are as many French horn players as there are moose in the state. So, she quickly switched over to her second love, the trumpet. Lori received her BS in music and English from UVa, and her Master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Maine. She is a former member of the Roanoke (VA) Symphony Orchestra and currently plays trumpet with the Bangor Symphony. When she is not tied up with her day job as an assistant director with the University of Maine's Upward Bound program, she finds the time to be a member and business manager of the Acadia Brass Ensemble and the Grand Theatre Pit Orchestra in Ellsworth, ME. We are delighted to have Lori as a member of EJP and we are happy to report that she is making great progress in French horn deprogramming through the EJP twelve step program!

Angela Plato

is a busy girl.  She plays trumpet as well as flute, guitar and bass.  Currently, when she's not playing with the Edith Jones Project she can be found in several other bands around the state, including Jazzy Chas and the DelRossi Posse (r&b/soul), Rock'em Sock'em Robots (reggae/rock), the Tom Bomoseen Band (r&b/jumpswing), and sometimes Royal Hammer (dub/reggae).  She has performed all over New England and abroad as far as Rome, Italy, Sarasota, Florida, and Carnegie Hall in New York City.  In 2003 she received her B.A. in Music from Smith College, where she was active with the orchestra, wind ensemble, community opera, glee club, chamber singers, and two jazz ensembles.  She has two bits of advice for the health and happiness of the world:  one, get outside more;  two, don't stand in front of the EJP trumpet section without appropriate ear protection!!
